drum brakes

would you turn the star shaped adjuster to loosen the brake pads? or would you mess with the adjuster lever?

i cant get the drum to come off because my brakes pads are too tight

You need to turn the star to back off the brakes, the lever is part of the self adjuster which turns the star to keep your brakes adjusted.
