Dual Top

I just purchased an owners manual for my 2006 TJ and it said that my soft top, folded down inside my hard top, is for shipping only and should be removed upon delivery of the vehicle. Well guess what, that thing has been there ever since I bought the Jeep. Is it screwed up by now? It looks fine resting there, but I just don't want to pop the top right now in the snow to remove it. I appreciate any help. Thanks.

Mike

Did you buy your TJ new? How long is "since I bought the Jeep"? I wouldn't worry too much about it at this point, but I would take it off in the spring when you get a chance. I know that I picked mine up on Halloween Day in '02 from the dealer, and left it on all winter like that (mostly because it snowed the day I picked it up...). Just check it every once-in-a-while to make sure that it isn't rubbing holes in the top!

I've only had the jeep for a couple of months. It looks like its been inside since it was new, but I'm not sure. The factory protective boot is still on the top.

Shouldn't be an issue, just keep an eye on it, and make arrangements to get it out of there ASAP if you start seeing wear on the protective boot.
