Shouldn't have to change a thing. What year durango was it from?

Only ones that fit are the 98-99's. Anything newer was the Delco box IIRC

Just curious, what benefits do you get from putting in the Durango gear box?

You shouldnt have to grind a thing off,I installed one from a 99 durango with the v8 had no problems just have to play with it to get it to fit, it works great wont regret it.

I did not have to modify any thing to put my durango box in. It was from a 99 v8 4x4

If you build your jeep so big and bad that it's really easy to get threw everything out there, then your going to get bored.
