Easy Wheel Question

I just got this 04 Wrangler and new the tires would need replacing pretty soon. One is worn out like it was never rotated, one is great, the other two are ok. No wonder it rides a little strange huh.

Anyways, I don't see any sense in getting new 225/75's when I want to upgrade to new tires in the next year. Might as well do a budget lift, some black steelies which seem pretty cheap, and go for the big tires. If I go with a 2" budget lift, 15" wheels, and 32" tires for now....I'm 'assuming 33's would fit on the same wheels no problem later?? Shouldn't cost much more than double to do all this rather than just replacing the stock tires.

Also, would 10" or 10.5" wide tires have them sticking out of the fenders much? I think 12's would be a bit too wide since its a DD. How about backspacing? With a 2" budget type of lift and 32's....do I need to worry about this?

Sorry for more newb questions.

Doc, why do you feel 12.50 wide tires would be too much?

No good reason I guess.....just wasn't sure how good they'd be for DD on city streets and highway....so 10" seemed like a good compromise.

But I'd definetely open to suggestions. I always figure, the wider the better!

33x12.5 on a daily driver. No problems to speak of. Rides nice on the hwy and does well off-road. I don't know what the law is in your state regarding tires sticking out, but on 3.75 backspaced wheels mine stick out about 3 inches. You may have a bit of rubbing with 33s and a 2" lift but you can adjust the steering stops to compensate.

Is you're the light khaki color? Hard to tell in that pic. If so, can you send me more pics?!? I have the light khaki color and love it! I didn't like it at first, but the more I look at it, the more I'm in love. I don't see many of them but it'd be nice to see what they look like with black wheels or other things on them.

Maybe I'll check into the 33's x 12.5 then. I guess I could always do the 2" lift with the option of hte 1" body/engine lift too.

Not sure about my local laws, but I was running my mustang gt with aftermarket exhaust and an offroad midpipe (no cats) and didn't seem to have any problems. Boy was that fun

I'd go 3 or 4 inches for 33's.
