Elec issue please help

K so drilling, I nicked a wire inside the cab that blew my OD and Radio I replaced the fuse and wire now they work...but it takes me punching the airbag to get the whole jeep to turn on. once it turns over I have full gauges and full volts. What gives?? I even changed out the fuses behind the glove box. Should I take the battery off and let it sit for 8 hours to reset the computer ??
2000 TJ sahara 4.0L
Thanks -
Chris

I'd examine the wire you nicked when you drilled the hole, odds are good it is bare enough to be touching steel where it shouldn't.

What color was the wire you nicked?
