electric fan conversion

Read about taking out motor driven fan in my 97 2.5 in JP magazine.. They mentioned something about using a Ford Touras electric fan.
Anyone do this conversion.. If so how did it go.. how do you tie in the fan to go off and on automatically ?

Was there any power improvements or MPG gain ?
What fan did you use ?

thanks

P. Scott

I put a electric fan in mine it wasn't a Taurus fan just a normal Chrysler fan. Taurus fans are suppose to be good because they're 2 speed and have a built in shroud. Honestly get you a fan out of a mustang 97 and up doesn't matter v6 or v8 it'll be. Cheaper and do the same job. You can pick up a adj switch at O'reilly's for around $40 I believe it's adj for temps 160-210. I have mine set up 2 ways. One is it will still kick on with the thermostat, 2 is I have a manual over ride wether I want it on if it's off or if it auto kicks on I can shut it off.

And power improvements you notice when going up the huge hills it won't bog down so much.

You either love em or hate em. Keep all of your factory items just in case your not happy with it. I myself like them and have never had a problem with them.

There is no downside to having a electric fan if your set up is right.
