engine light???

My engine light is staying on even after I had the rig run through w/diagnostics... thought it could be 02 sensor(s) but only have 49k on it... removed a jet chip too which I don't think was working anyway... Anyone ever have to do a factory computer flash and would this be what it needs??

If you're throwing an 02 sensor code and they are good you may have a bad Cat. Mine went out at 32K and I'm pretty sure the dealership has to warranty it for 80K miles.

if its fuel con. i would assume its the "jet chip" to witch helps nothing, go to AZ or advanced and erase it for free now that the chip is out.. also remember your ecu learns as it goes so it may take a little bit to unlearn what nothingness the chip caused in the first place

My o2 sensors have gone bad three times in the last six years and my Jeep only has 18,000miles

Just replaced two of them back in November.......

Here is the TSB #18-028-06. You will need to take it to the dealer and have them reflash your computer.

Here is more information about P2096

P2096-DOWN STREAM FUEL TRIM LEAN BANK 1

WHEN MONITORED
With the engine running in closed loop mode, the ambient/battery temperature above (-7°C) 20°F , altitude below 8500 ft and fuel level greater than 15% .

SET CONDITION
If the PCM multiplies short term compensation by long term adaptive and a certain percentage is exceeded for two trips, a freeze frame is stored, the MIL illuminates and a trouble code is stored. Two Trip Fault. Three good trips to turn off the MIL.

Here are some other possible causes:

Exhaust leak
Engine mechanical problem
02 sensor
02 signal circuit
02 return circuit
Fuel contamination
