Engine or exhaust smell on uphill!?

Just moved to CA a few months ago and they have plenty of hills here. When I'm going up hill on a highway I try not to cruise on 6th so I drop it down to 5th 3rpm at 55-60mph ... however if I leave it on 6th at 3rpm 65-70mph I smell something I'm not sure if coming from the engine or exhaust. I only have 47k on the jeep. Is this normal?

Did you ever find out what the smell was? I have the same issue. I also do not get heat on the drivers side which they are saying is the heating core being clogged from the casting sand.

Let's hope it was a small gas leak that the "new owner" found out about the hard way

Well, here's another good thing that came out of your misfortune. And yeah, being a little naughty(I don't like car thieves), I hope it was a gas leak and your Jeep blew up on them.
