Engine shuts off in Drive?

Today i was at a stop sign and my engine just decides to shut off. It was sitting at the stop sign for a while, it did a very subtle sputter and just turned off like it stalled or something. This has also happened to me after putting it in reverse but only maybe twice in the past. Does anyone one know what could be causing this i know one other WF member posted a thread of this happening to him in park and hes looking for answers too. Keep in mind I'm talking about an automatic.

The first thing I would do is clean your IAC (idle air controller)...especially if it idles low or nearly stalls when switching between drive and reverse and vice versa.

They have special iac cleaner, but worse case the torque converter is locking up at the wrong time and that will cause a stall. Is the check engine light on?
