Engine Swaps?

So I'm looking to maybe swap out my old I6 with somthing different, I was thinking a 350 or 5.7L hemi? Any input on how much fabricating needs to be done between the two? And what would I be looking at for axles? Dana 44 front and rear? Or bigger? What one do you guys think is best suited?

Read through my build thread (in my signature) and the others I listed. This will give you an idea of what you are looking at if you do the Hemi conversion.

All of these and mine were all done at home by the owners. A google search will also turn up some other builds and info on where to source the parts needed.

The conversions done by myself and MGILLELLI are also 50 state legal and were certified for use in California.

Its not cheap or an undertaing that you will get done in a few weekends. You'll need some $$, a better than average set of tools, some mechanical abilities, a few friends, and some patience. A rear axle upgrade to at least a dana 44 and an SYE for the transfer case is needed.

Time to do some reading....

Okay so I read through some of those, I do like the idea of sending out the computer and wiring harness to be re fabricated, must take a lot
Of headache from the build, how much
Of the build was plug and play when it was all said and done? What fabricating did you run into? If I were to get a donor vehicle with the entire drive line/parts what parts wouldn't I
Have? I'm considering buying a tj with no tub and motor and just building off it, then mounting the current tub I have on my 99, my frame is in decent condition but could be better. How much was your entire build when finished?

An I6 4.7L Stroker is also worthy of consideration. Can get some serious hp and bolts right in.
