Looking to buy one

I installed an E-9000 with syn line last spring and although I have not done any recoveries yet I have pulled out 3 - 12' + half dead hemlock trees, roots and all (Sandy victims) which was a hard pull with a snatch block and I also pulled a downed tree to clear a trail while off-roading. It was probably 20" at the base and about 40 to 50 feet in length.

So far it has performed well. I did a remote mount of the control box under the hood to clean up the install.

I like it.

I have a 9000 with the steel line, got almost $100 off when I bought it. I've done more then a dozen recoveries and possible as many tree moves. Never had an issue. I even pulled a dodge dually out of the beach once. The only problem I have, and it could be due to where my solenoid box is, the power is intermittent. All connections are tight and sound. I think it's heat related since my box is in the spare battery tray under the hood. Mounting the box to the winch with my plate made the wires rub the paint off the front grill. Getting the metalcloak bumper soon so the box might move back to the winch itself. I strongly recommend them. Yes it Chinese but when something breaks and you call engo you actually get an American! All parts are sent out of the west coast. My buddy runs the 12000 and it came with a bad brake, they sent a new brake free of charge. Then his motor went and they sent him another free of charge. They helped him through the install and he hasn't had an issue since! Fantastic customer service. Go for it!

I hope that didn't happen on the trail when he needed it most.

I have an Engo 10k, just keeps on working. I also got the syn. line and couldn't be happier. I heard the horror stories and have a spare TJM line in the Jeep but haven't needed it yet.

I have one pull on my 9k engo. Worked fine. Only problem I've had was when its cold and hasn't been used in a week sometimes the switch to engage free spool and engage gets hard to move

I wonder why Warn has this on their applications? I was kind of thing of applying but not now. It's weird how they ask if you are Latino or Hispanic or Not, they don't do that with any other race. WTF Warn?

Sorry to hijack - I'll never buy Warn anything.

everyone has that on applications, you don't have to answer.
I believe the question had to do with how many pulls you have on your Engo winch, not the same old "buy Warn propaganda" We get it already, move on.
I have a dozen or so pulls on my Engo 9K and no problems what so ever. I spent the extra money on other upgrades along the way.

I went with engo because I read good things about them and wheel with other people that have winches and other methods of recovery. A winch is not my top priority for my build and that is why I didn't go with a warn, mainly because i couldn't afford it if I wanted to buy other mods

I went with the engo 10k after reading a bunch of good reviews and boy do I gotta say I love it. I've used it a bunch of times to pull out a f250 super duty and a few wranglers as well as myself. Got the added wireless remote option what a life savor. Mines been on for a year now and I'm comfortable in saying I've gotten my money's worth out of it

Been running my Engo 12k for around 4 years. Id say over 50 recoveries on the trail. Some hard some easy, a dozen or so random yard uses, many times used to put vehicles on trailers and one time it recovered a fork lift at my work that was stuck between the truck and trailer. Its no light fork lift.

Its a beast. I bought mine before they offered em with synthetic line. I still have the steal cable but I have a synthetic line waiting in the back of the Jeep.

Used it for the second time today. Pulled a tj on 37"s out of a mud/ice hole

x2. The solenoid box is cheap plastic that flexes easy. I wired mine under the hood to keep it out of weather and mud. Soon ill add in cab controls but for now I just pop the hood. You can see in the pic below that its zip tied down on the back right side of engine bay

Yeah during my original install I put the box above the battery hanging from that support pole. I wired in cab controls where my ashtray was and extended the wires on the fixed mount from the box out into the inner fender well(flat fenders ) so I dont have to pop my hood. Then later I got a free wireless remote from work so I have that too.

So I managed to get stuck..actually pretty good..I unwound the synthetic line almost all the way..went to pull & the line snapped...also the button sticks when pressing out..not a big deal..the line snapping doesn't leave me very comfortable about a, synthetic line..I'll call Engo tomorrow and provide an update.keep in mind this is only the 2nd time I used this..

Friend of mine has had his 1200 engo on his land rover with synthetic line for almost 2 years at least 20 pulls of that heavy beast with no issues. Faulty line doesn't mean they are all bad.
