European TJ vs. US TJ

I'm curious of the differences, i know the European versions have the amber turn signals in the rear, and a rear facing for light. i also know that some are right hand drive, and the optional diesel (wish i could get one ) but what else?

how is the rear facing fog light controlled?

The front bumpers and fenders were different in some countries. There was almost no gap between the fender flare and the bumper. But other than that, not a whole lot.

there was no diesel in a TJ, only the JK has a diesel engine.

every EU 4.0L TJ since 2003 has a rear D44 and 3.07 gears.
the front sidemarker lights work only like blinkers.
there is only a 4.0L sport and 4.0L sahara available.
the sport has 6-gear manual tranny, softtop and no extras, tires: 215/75r15.
the sahara has 4-gear auto tranny, top-in-top (hardtop&softtop), A/C, 6-speaker and sub cd/mp3-radio, tires: 225/75r15.

the only available extra is metallic paint.

but the biggest differece is the price.
a TJ cost much more in europe than in the US.
the list price for a 4.0L sahara was 28.500€*in 2006, that´s 41900$.

my TJ p.e. is a russian import model. it has a complete underbody rust protection like some canada models. and i only paid 22.000€ (32.300¢) for it incl. 32x11.5x15 tires on 7.5x15 rims and some chrome bumpers.

how is your rear fog light activated? switch on the dash like the front fogs, or is it on the turn signal with the headlights? does it have a different icon on it?

also, what does a set of tri-color tail lights go for over there? i'd like to have a set for mine, and maybe we could work out and equal parts/shipping trade?

my rear fog lights are activated with the turn signal switch. i turn the end of the turn signal switch around to turn onthe headlights. when i pull it out a bit with activated headlights the rear fog lights are activated.

tri color tail lights? are you talking about these ugly plastic bricks at my rear?

ya, i like the tri color bricks. i want to recess the tails in my tj, and i thought the euro ones would be odd enough to be cool. i wasn't sure if they were plentiful in europe. i love some fetures that are offered outside the states for my vehicles. eurospec headlamps, rear facing fogs and so on are in the works for my jetta. you may know it as a bora

i won't go as far as paying quadratecs price for an oddity, since i can have 2 4" LED's for the price of one tail from them...

what does the switch above the ARB switches control?

that switch adjusts the angle oft he H4 headlamps. if the TJ is loaded you can turn the headlamps down with it. that´s a must here in europe.
