Ever have someone do something to your Jeep?

On the way back from the hospital I noticed my Jeep being a little wobbly. Well I get home and come to find out 4 out of 5 lug nuts were missing. I check my Jeep daily recently because of things happening to it, also I know all bolts were torqued to 90ft lbs yesterday and had all of them on there. What route should I go about with this incident?

I have heard of this happening. First off hospitals can be very shaddy places where people do crazy things. Theft is big at one of the hospitals where I live. I would replace all the lugs with locking ones. Another thing is make sure the rims are seated to hub good. Could also be that its the wrong type of lugs for the rim. 90lbs torqed should keep it one there. 80-100 will sufice. I would test it with new lugs-locking or not-drive it around a little then see if they stay tightened.

The wheels seat perfectly with the hub and have never had an issue with them coming loose (had it since the od read 3 miles in 03) Ironically I did just leave a hospital parking lot. I know they have cameras there. Maybe talk to them to see if it occurred at the hospital parking lot?

sounds like someone janked em then. You could but lugs cost under $50. If they have time they might help you catch the culprit

locking nuts don't really do anything except provide peace of mind.

I know in some states it could be considered attempted manslaughter. Now for PA I'm not sure. I did call the hospital and security is going to review the tapes for me. They said if the can't tonight the guy who was on shift today will check them at 7am when he gets in. I have not filed a report (never saw the point because nothing comes from it)

Agreed. I know from shop experience it's surprisingly easy to get them off. Just grab a socket that is a tad smaller than put it on the locking nut and bang it on there or you could buy the kit for it if you work at the shop.

Where did you find that? For my longer trips I bring my ar with me and it stays behind the rear seat in a military pelican case. Needless to say people don't tailgate

Ha nice and I actually found it on Facebook. But I'm sure you could take it to a shop and have it made for you.

I had someone pour a slushy in the seat of it. I had the doors and top off parked in a shopping mall.

I read a post on jeep forum a while back where a guy who lived in an apartment had his top down and doors off over the weekend. He went back out on Monday morning and his seats were wet. Come to find out someone had pissed all over his seats! Of course it would make me mad but I had to laugh!

That makes the slushy seem not so bad!

Yeah, I had my inlaws with me and my temper got the best of me. Not my most proud moment, but, I just couldn't understand why someone would do that.

Surprisingly I haven't found any randomly wet seats or stuff of that nature. I'm at the in-laws now and I'm trying to stay calm about everything. Its weird though growing up I was told to not go near a jeep without doors on or the top down, just to not look like I'm tampering with anything on it. Kind of like an unsaid rule I guess that's faded over time.

That's why I won't go to the movies with the top/doors off. The last thing I want is some fat bastards big gulp and popcorn thrown in my jeep. I dunno why people do that stuff but they do...pisses me off.

On the bright side we have a local drive-in theatre..

I found someones lunch left on my side seat and a drink in my cup holder. Made me mad. I park far from the entrance because stupid people are often lazy too.

Some friends got in mine, let the parking brake go, and pushed it into the middle of the parking lot when I was in high school. I was mad, like if I talk to you we're gonna fight mad. Almost got a detention for not parking correctly too (that's how I found out about it). But the disciplinarian realized what happened when I gave him the most confused looks he's ever seen when he asked why my jeep was in the middle of the lot. He told me to lock my doors but I informed him that it doesn't matter because they can just unzip the windows. Luckily nothing bad happened to my jeep.

I've also had the fortune of coming back to some empty fast food bags as well. Pretty frustrating.
