Evolution of my Jeep so far

I've been a forum fan for about 8 months now reading and leaning as much as I can so this is my 1st post. I've never been real interested in Jeeps, always a car/truck junkie, until I changed jobs and picked one up as my means of transportation for offload work. It doesn't take long to appreciate the capabilities of these jeeps tho.

I picked my 01' up from my father in law on a swap from my 97' F350 that I didn't need. It was bone stock, and not neglected but not really cared for either.

This is what she looked like when I got her.

Didn't mean to stop at that post so anyway I thought the tires were under sized so I bought some new rubber, 31x10.50

The fenders were pretty faded too so I got some bed liner and shot the fenders, mirrors, undercarriage and found a good deal on a Fab Four front bumper on Craigslist. I deleted those side steeps too!

Thanks, I've been real happy with the swap.

I pulled the soft top out of storage and put it on. I'm kinda more partial to the hard top as far as looks are concerned. I also bought some MT classics in black but I'm not really liking those much either. I'm not sure if it's the black wheels on blue paint or what. I'm trying to let it grow on me before I put the stockers back on. Any opinions?

Looking good so far! I like the wheels myself but different strokes for different folks...

I like the MTs, but I'm a little partial. It looks good with either set of wheels though. The bedlined flares took 10 years off the age of the Jeep. Good work!

97 F350 for an 01 TJ....sounds like a great deal. and your already modifying. keep updating pictures so you can see how it evolves.

i like the black wheels.....the convenience of a soft top to take it down is great.

I agree, restoring those flares was like Just For Men for jeeps!

Thanks for all the positives on the wheels. I'm gonna give them a little bit. I can be picky at times.

I also got in my which last week just haven't put it on. Warn had a good sale with free shipping on the 9.5 CTI which will fill the gap on that bumper. Then found a member here last night selling 100' of the spydra synthetic line so I'm going to pick it up tomorrow and swap out the steel cable. I'm looking forward to getting that all set up!

Jeep looks good. It's amazing how much better refinished flares look. I really like patriot blue, but I think it's the one color that doesn't look better with black wheels. I like gunmetal or silver with patriot blue.

That's how I feel now in hind sight. I almost went with the black beadlocks to break it up a bit but backed out last minute. We'll see, someone might get a deal on some new 15x8 MT's soon.

Need some advise on lighting. I have the Hella e-code (not installed). I'm looking to buy some 6,000K hid's but not sure who has the best relay/harness. DDM has gotten some nods I've read but then I've seen a couple guys say they're not what they used to be quality wise. Then theres 35w vs 55w. I don't want to blind people so should I go with the 35 which I'd imagine is still an improvement over stock or get the max with 55?

The wheels look much better than the stockers.

The "blinding people" comes from the fact that e-code housings are designed for a halogen bulb not HID. I doubt 35 vs 55 is going to make much difference to oncoming drivers.

Nice winch, BTW.
