Exhaust Upgrade for my Golden Eagle

Hey guys,

Had my Golden Eagle for just over a year now and been out a few times. My exhaust is now leaking and instead of fixing it, I want to give it an upgrade. I have done a lil research on certain headers and cat back and forward systems etc. Wanted to find out what other people would recommend and who better to ask than some fellow jeepers on this forum. Was thinking of getting 2.5" pipes all the way through. I don't know much about this so if this sounds stupid, forgive me.

Banks cat-back sounds pretty good with my 4.0. Doesnt do anything for power though.

On a side note, how do you like the Golder Eagle (Im assuming thats the 4.6L stroker drop in?). Is it all you hoped it would be? Any regrets, or 'if I could do this over again I would...'?

if you want to do the full exhaust go with the banks torque tube headers, hi flow cat and a banks cat back. and i believe that its all 2.5" piping, cat back from banks is a 2.5" pipe.

G'day mate no it's the 4.0 I6. I love it! I always wanted a jeep and I was finally in the position to buy one just over a year ago. I did a heap of looking around and when I found this one I just fell in love with her. I don't regret it a bit. The only downfall is the fuel consumtion but I expected that anyway. Always fun to drive. I'll put some pics up of it very soon. I was looking at the banks already after after looking at a few you tube clips of various ones. But there weren't really many (that I could find anyway) that had full systems. It was mostly cat back. Thanks for your reply. Much appreciated.

Whoops thanks JBA. Didn't know it was 2.5 all the way through that helps heaps. Coz I live in Australia it's really hard to find any of this at a respectable price. Does anybody know of a good website to buy these that will deliver internationally?

Not sure if you've chosen an exhaust yet but JP magazine online has a nice video write up with 6 or so different exhaust systems. It helped me with choosing mine.

Good luck.

here is a vid of my jeep with just the cat-back, not to sure on the quality of your computer speakers but it has a nice tone, even for a 4 cylinder.

Is a Golden Eagle a TJ or a CJ? I seem to remember a G.E. CJ

welcome to the forums.

If you are just looking for a muffler replacement, I suggest a Flowmaster 40 series. I am in love with the sound of this on my Jeep. For a full system, banks is definitely good, but I don't know if it improves performance or not.

BOTH.... They made a few TJ's only in 2006 with a Golden Eagle trim package. Other than cosmetic items it is a regular ol' TJ.

The special trim....
* 4.0L I-6 engine
* Dana 44 rear axle
* Golden Eagle hood, fender, and spare tire decals/logos
* Painted instrument panel accents
* Two-tone premium seats with Golden Eagle logos
* 30" tires with 15" gold finished Ravine wheels

^it was taken from an old digital camera so the audio is a little off, it sounds better in real life, plus i have an intake that kind of changes the overall sound. i liked the sound of the banks better than the flomaster, the gibson and the borla.
