Experience with Olympic's grill guard?

Hey, do any of ya'll have any experience with Olympic and their grill guard:

Olympic 4x4 Products 610-124 - Olympic 4X4 Products Grille Guard for 97-06 Jeep® Wrangler TJ & Unlimited - Quadratec

I'm thinking about putting it on my factory bumper, until I can get the actual money to get a nice front bumper and matching rear bumper. And then putting factory tow hooks on the bumper at the same time.

Opinions? Reviews of the guard?

Thanks ya'll!

I wouldn't spend 134 on that. If you have 134 saved up already, just wait a bit longer and get something that you really want.

I'm hopefully starting school in Jan. and I'm gonna save the money from that and get a Smittybilt SRC front. Its got light tabs and can mount a winch and its only 250 or 260 plus shipping.

For the rear, I picked up the smittybilt classic rock crawler rear bumper w/receiver for 99 bucks with free shipping from 4wheelparts. They also delivered it in one day. This was during black friday sales. Keep an eye out online. I know smittybilt isn't highly looked upon, but it serves my needs and it bolted right up.

I've had that same grille guard on mine for almost two years now. Mine wasn't as expensive but I love the look and it does a good job of protecting the front of the jeep in the brush. Id say go for it

I've got that one on mine. It is very well built and installed without a problem. I did buy new standard bolts to replace the factory torx-heads and ended up using the torx bolts to bolt the grille guard together (it ships disassembled). My factory tow hooks were left in the stock position as the guard mounts beneath them. If you change to a rock crawler type bumper later on you can still use the grille guard with it, but that could require some fab work depending on who made the bumper. I don't like the styling of those pre-runner type guards that are all the rage these days.... looks like your poor Jeep was force-fed Viagra.

Thank you for y'all's input! I'm actually going to get this grill guard for my stock bumper soon, and later get Olympic's front 500 series bumper, so I can get that beefier bumper I want but I can then re-mount the grill guard on the 500 series bumper. Making a good combo of protection!

Thanks again!

Thanks, looks good!

Question though, is there a gap in between the grill guard mounting brackets and the bumper itself? Like, is the bumper "too thin" for the grill guard?

On pictures of the grill guard on quadratech it looks like this gap is present. Merely a cosmetics thing but i'm curious?
