Factory fog wiring

Yesterday I picked up a stock fog light switch. The rocker type for my 98 SE. I put it in the spot and connected the wire connector that was there. The switch lights up and the indicator light comes on when I turn the fog light switch on. When I turn the high beams on a relay behind the glove box clicks and the indicator goes off. I know that is how it's supposed to work. Question is this..... Where do I tap in to get the power to run to my fog lights???? My jeep did not come stock with fogs.

Factory fog lights on a "98" come off fuse #25 (20 amp) in the power distribution Center (under the hood).

Looks like my fuse is behind the glove box #3. So has anybody else done this upgrade? Does the power wire come out in the engine compartment somewhere?

Even better does anyone have the wiring diagram for the 1998 fog lights? I should be able to figure it out from there (hopefully)

Depending on how much of the wiring is there, there should be 2 relays. Relay 2 switches the fogs off for high beam & also turns the indicator in the switch on & off which you are getting. When off, high beam relay 2 sends power to the switch. When the switch is on it sends power to relay 1 & closes it. That then sends power from fuse 3 to the lights. If you have relay 1 then you need a wire from there (should be terminal 30) to the lights. I think both relays are together behind the glove box. Here is the 2 page diagram from the FSM.

Thank you so much Rubi. This is exactly what I needed. All the inside wiring and relays is there. Just need that power wire to go to the fogs. Wasn't a big deal until I got my JK bumper now I want them. Lol

I'd take a quick look in the vicinity of where the stock lights would have been mounted had you had them. Make sure you don't have a set of connectors tucked away. Just because you don't have the lights doesn't mean the wiring harness isn't present.

If the harness had the switch plug in you have the fog plug ins already on the harness. They are tucked up there, keep looking.

I'll have to take it back apart and get you a picture. I will try to do that during my lunch break.

Post 8 above has the diagram including the switch wires & the position #s 1-4. The switch MAY have the terminals numbered, not sure.
