Factory subwoofer to 6 inch speaker???

Ok, so I have seen multiple threads about this; however, not exactly to this degree. I have an 06 wrangler sport with the factory sound system and would like to install an aftermarket sub and amp in the back (those with factory subs probably understand why). My question is would it be possible to install a 6" round speaker in the console where the factory sub exists now? It would be running off of the factory head unit and I have heard that there may not be enough power to push that many speakers. Thanks!
