I'm new to the forum, so please excuse the typical newbie question.
I've wanted a Wrangler since high school; and now ten years later I'm finally searching for one to buy. I found one I really like: '04, fire-engine red, Sport model, 20K miles, hard top, FLAWLESS exterior/interior, one previous owner, clean title throughout, no mods whatsoever (yet!). Test drove it this afternoon and it drives just like I thought a Wrangler would! After about an hour at the dealership the sales manager made a final offer of $16K before he got angry and kicked me out of the lot. Do you think this is a fair price? Please keep in mind I'm from NYC and everything out here seems to cost more.
i think its a little hight atleast around here he would be around 1500 to high plus you are going to have to pay taxes and lot fees try to find a nice used one from an individual you can save alot of money probably at least 2500 less than a dealer
16 is def. top dollar!!!! 20k is low, but that Jeep is now 5 years old. Id say 13,500-14,000 would more reasonable. Plenty of fish in the sea, don't settle. I was in the same situation 5 years ago when i bought mine: almost settled for a red sport for 14,000. Then my black sahara (my dream Jeep)fell into my lap!!
Print out the Kelly Blue Book page for that Jeep and offer him a firm $14,000. If he doesn't want to take that wish him the best of luck selling it and keep looking. The $14K is a Private party Price which should leave him a decent profit margin of about $2K if he only put the trade in value into it.
