fender flare advice

I want to get new fender flares because my new wheel/tires set up kick up an insane amount of gunk.

I have 31x10.50's on 15x10 ( I think, they might be 15x8's).

Should I get the 6 inch flares or 7 inch??

Keep in mind that many of the aftermarket flares I've seen are much more brittle and will crack and / or shatter if you kiss a tree.

Do you have a picture of your jeep shot front to back or back to front?

I have 7" rugged ridge flares covering 33x12.50 0n 10" wide rims. they cover the entire tread area of the tire. I think that 7 was too wide for me, so definately too wide for 10.50s. I am currently looking for some 6" or even 5" wide, cuz w/the 7" I think it looks a little dorky. Hope this helps

Oh, and if anyone would like a set of 7" flares let me know. Might even be willing to trade for a stock set that is in decent shape

Bought a set of 7"'s on ebay before I got back to read this. My wheels have a pretty big backspace so, fingers crossed! otherwise I might have a set of 7's for sale.

Loo - If you get a chance post some pics for us. I know there are many of us debating on whether to go with the 6 inch or 7 inch flares. I have 32 x 11.50's and my Jeep throws mud, water, snow, and rocks at me all the time. Gets annoying.

Hopefully I will get them in the next few days, depends on how they ship them I guess.

I am a teacher and tried to line up my recieving the flares to correspond with my spring break. Once I get them, I will put some before and after pictures up. Hopefully I will end up liking the 7's since I made myself the guinea pig on this one.

I just hate getting rocks and water splashed up on me. I had 30's on my old Jeep and had no problems running them, but because of the backspacing and the aggressive tread on these 31's it is throwing all kinds of stuff at me and I will use the jeep for cruising around with the top down and doors off more than I will use it for real off road adventures

with my 7" flares the tire can flex under the fender flares.

with only 6" flares or smaller the tire would crack the outside of the flare while flexing.

Do you have any front on pictures of your rig with the 7" flares? What size wheels and tires do you run? Backspacing?

i have 8.5x15 rims with 35x12.5x15 tires. now with the cooper STTs the tires stick out about 3/4" more. i don´know the backspacing. here in europe we only use the tire offset which is -28 millimeters on my wheels.

i don't have other pics where you can see it better. the tire thread is covered and the sidewall sticks out.

that´s right.
6" will be enough for him.

which flares do you want to buy?

a friend had expensive bushwackers. they look very good, but they broke very fast.
my omix-ada flare don´t look that good. but they only cost 149$ and they can bend very much without braking.

Get the 6" flat flares. Get more clearance and less stuff thrown up on your Jeep

btw. all that depends on the wheel offset.

my ld 32x11.5x15 tires on 7.5x15 offset +15 rims fit under the stock 4.75" sahara flares.

My 7" flares are supposed to arrive tomorrow. I'm excited, but nervous that they might end up being too wide!
