Fender Flares

I need to extend my fender flares by about another inch so I can pass german inspection. What should I use to space them out? I don't want to put a bunch of washers between the flares, since that would be a big PITA. I want new fender flares, but I don't have the money for them / they're not priority.

I "THINK" it has 6" bushwackers on it. Here's a pic of said Jeep

Would it be cheaper and easier to borrow a set of smaller rims and tires from a friend just to pass?

I could do that, however I don't know anybody personally. I just bought the TJ a few days ago, and I'm new to the Jeep world. I saw a few Jeeps around here, but I'll have to find someone. But let's say I can't borrow a set of wheels & tires; what would I do?

Why 1" wider? Your tires do not appear to stick out past the flares. What are the German regs?

I would think that if you can't drive your jeep until you get wider flares then that would change the status from "not priority " to major priority.

not priority meaning getting new ones aren't my main priority right now. German reg states that the tires must be completely covered by fenders or flares. How they check that is they take a yard stick and put it up to the tire vertically and if it does not touch the flare, they fail you. You have 30 days to fix an issue from failed inspection, and I haven't even got it inspected yet. I actually found someone today who would swap wheels/tires with me for a day.

lol i offered him a case or two of beer and he doesn't want it. He loves Jeeps too much and he loves this one especially. I found out that he and the PO were the ones who did all the work on it before I bought it.

Nah, he's got 3 sets of his own.. what would he want with a used set that has 15,000 miles on them??? lol. He told me that he's holding onto a friend's TJ who's downrange and it's completely stock, so I'll be borrowing the stock wheels/tires from it. It's gonna look really funny with a 6.5" lift and stock sport tires.
