I have a 2006 Jeep Wrangled TJ I bought used and everytime I get gas it spews gas out right as it shuts off. Does anyone know if this is an easy fix or what kind of garage I can call to fix this. I read that the issue is a flapper problem in the neck where it fills. It is going to eventually ruin my paint not to mention my shoes an clothes. Thank you
two solutions, install a GM fuel filler neck, that has a flapper in it, or dont fill it up all the way. shame on chrysler for not making this a recall item, as it is far too common. so common, that GM ran out of filler necks for a given part and the forums found several others that will also work.
Ok I will see what I can find as of the part number for my Jeep. Thanks for the info hopefully I can figure this out fast and then find Someone to do it for me. I am assuming just find a garage who will work on it? Thanks so much ?
Its fun, aint it? The GM hose will make a huge improvement. I just put one on two weeks ago and it helps with the fuel volcano. Jump on Amazon right now and order the hose. They were out of production for a while so get it while you can.
There is also a YT video where the tank is dropped and the stuck float is filed down so that it slides freely. Can't link it from my phone but it is easy to find.
15131046 is the GM part number. Just checked on Amazon and looks like they are out currently. You may be able to find it elsewhere by searching with the number.
