Filling the transmission through the shift tower?

So I have an AX-5 transmission, and of course as many of you may know the fill for the transmission is in a ridiculous spot.

I currently have my interior out and easy access to the shift tower, so I was wondering if i could just fill my transmission through there and save myself the crazy funneling setup

Thanks everyone

Since you already have the console out, I'd do it.

That's how I did mine the last time. Just removed the fill plug and forgot the drip pan

That's how I filled up my T-5 after I had to do a clutch job.
