Finally Getting Started

Turned 16 last year and got a 2000 Wrangler 4.0 and have been dying to start upgrading and building it up right, and I finally just purchased my first few items to get it started. Accidentally broke my air vent so I upgraded to the daystar rocker panel instead, purchased some mirror movers so my car's legal whenever the doors are off, bought 2 custom bumpers from our local fabrication shop to get rid of the cheap tubular one's, and 2 ARB d-rings to finish off the rear bumper. Not a big deal to most, but I'm stoked, saving up to get an RCD 3" lift now, anybody else experience this feeling whenever they get something new for their Jeep?

JeepsFTW: I'm on my third Wrangler (a YJ and then two TJ's). This one is an '03 Sahara I picked up in early November last year with only 34,000 one-owner miles on it. And in answer to your question, YES, I still get stoked myself whenever I get something new for my new baby. Good luck with yours.

TTIWWOP!!!

you have to include lots of pics, anytime you say anything about a mod. esp when you start listing mods. Some of us have to live vicariously through the other members of this forum.

You're lucky your parents bought it for you!
My parents wouldn't pay a cent for mine, so it took me almost a year to save up all the cash I needed to buy my 4.0.
Now I'm flat broke and have to save up again more for the mods.

Good luck though, you sound like you're off to a good start!

Haha I know that feelng. I just picked up a set of Harley mirrors for $20 from a local dealership and can't wait to take my doors off again and try 'em out.

without any intention of hijacking this thread, i just have to say something here: that is one S-I-C-K color your jeep has!! i take it that's factory (right?), but i've never seen it before..... amber fire?? say what? was that some kind of special package, or a 2002-only gig? i envy you as i've been getting a little bored of black lately... and already i'm thinking about a paint job

anyway, i'd say it was well worth the wait! seriously beautiful TJ!

I'm 39 and go outside and just stare at my Jeep. Sometimes I forget that I am doing it and my kids catch me and say "Daddy stop staring at your Jeep, you're such a DORK" It happens to all of us, Have fun and good luck with the build
