Fire extinguisher mounting

The club I go wheelin with requires every rig to have a fire extinguisher on board. usually I just throw it in the back but It's about time I mount it. I have a wall mount and small extinguisher and I was planning on zip tying the mount to the roll bar somewhere. I'm looking for ideas/pictures of how and where you have your extinguishers mounted. I'm not looking for anything fancy just some ideas of where for the most part. Thanks!

It's been mounted here year round. It is the standard wall mount that has been zip tied to the roll bar just as you described. Though that is the old fire extinguisher(before I new what I needed) as that is only for B&C fires and you need the A,B&C fire extinguisher. It is normally red. (A=paper/ anything that leaves ash, B=oil, grease, etc., C= electrical) Don't get the auto(as in cars and jeeps) extinguisher as if I remember doesn't cover all fires. Though there is also a D fire but will never(hopfully) see one. As it is hazardous materials on fire like metal, talking extreme heat. Was in the Navy, I can't forget this stuff if I tried.

Just to give you another idea, the inside space is forever getting limited. When I was in the fire department we looked outside the unit/rig for a mounting spot. This way if someone else needed to get it they can see it's there. Remember to remove it when not needed for the group, I'd hate to see someone steal it. You can get small unseen brackets that are hardly noticable.

Give serious consideration to a 5 lb. ABC extinguisher. Those 2 lb. extinguishers are not good for a serious fire, I consider them more for show... better than nothing but barely.

Here is how I mounted mine, I found a spring-steel snap in mount at my local safety supply store.

The mount is bolted to a 1" wide 1/8" piece of steel bolted to the seat bases. That location is handy yet out of the way and far enough to the rear of where I put my feet that I never noticed its presence.

I carry 3 - on the floor just inside the doors, both sides, and the 3rd one behind the console on the hump.
That way driver and passenger each has one, and if someone's in the back seat they have one too.
When the doors are closed, you can't see the front ones.
Open the doors they are right there.

I used Velcro straps as hold downs, with a loop end sticking out above it - Grab and pull and it's free.

I'll take a pic tonight but I ended up mounting it on the backside of the front drivers side rollbar (same spot as post #2)
