First drive in my Jeep

After some hold ups i finally bought my first jeep. 2004 wrangler X with 73,000 miles. All stock for now til I get some time behind the wheel and research what I want to mod. It drove great today, for my first time driving stick, but of course this is the only day I didn't see any jeeps on the road! Smdh no jeep wave today. Felt good with no doors and top down! Glad to be a part of Wrangler Forum!

Sweet looking Jeep, that's a great color too. Congrats on the cool new Jeep, looking forward to reading more about it here as you wheel & work on it!

Thanks! I'm new to all this so it will be a while before i do anything. A lift and tires is coming at some point. But only after I got it down driving it stock for a while to be safe. And I know a lot of other things have to be down when lifting. Haha I already feel my pockets getting lighter but the fun factor is worth it

Such a fun vehicle to drive ! I recently took the plunge as well, and picked up an 05 LJ Rubi with a 6 spd manual. Love it ! Really brings that highschool-just-got-my-license joy back to driving. At least for me. And that is a great color ! Lots of military heritage in it, as well as the connection to nature (Sounds very hippyish... but we are talking about something that burns liquified explosive dinos...)

Cheers !

And as far as mods go, there's a whole new world out there that you'll discover as I have (unfortunately for my wallet). There's also just as many useful tools to pack as there are mods to your Jeep, but those are usually quite a bit cheaper. Like a good come along vs a new bumper. lol. I know you said you're going to wait, but what are you thinking of doing first ?

I bought my first Jeep over two weeks ago. I immediately built a hardtop hoist and it has been off ever since. Doors too. It hasn't grown old for me at all. I love driving it! It's been a real long time since I've driven somewhere just to go for a drive. Been doing it almost every night now!

It's gonna be my DD and the occasional weekend warrior. Through researching lifts I found that every jeep can take a mod differently and while one jeep make not need anything else, another may need an SYE kit, track bars, control arms, or regearing if moving to larger tires. I learned a lot of that on here ad I'm glad i did before just buying a kit right away. I've done some homework on everything but any advice or experience with a 2.5" lift and what else had to be done would be greatly appreciated. I just want to learn everything I can to make an informed decision and I know yall are very knowledgable on here! Thanks in advance!

Enjoy your Jeep! Yea when i saw the color online I was iffy about it but when I saw it in person it's a real good color for a jeep. Good buy btw!

You ain't seen nothing yet 'Grats on the Jeep. A lifted and modified rig is as safe as stock, if not safer. So long as its done right.

Did the same for my 16 year old. A 2003 Black Sahara to go with my 2010 JK Sport.

Welcome and enjoy. I bought mine April 2012. As soon as my Wife and I took it for the first test drive we knew it would be ours. Mods are endless, just as the good times will be.

Just means we are going to be twice as broke modding 2 jeeps.

Welcome, fellow Marylander! I infected my dad with the Jeep bug as well. I had mine for like 2 months, then he went out and got a brand new 2012 (Fall of 2011).

Haha my dad drives mine a little now cuz he loves driving doors off and topless. I won't be surprised if he starts looking for one too
