First off Hello-- Houston-- I NEED HELP

Hello and Thank you for your TIME.. Mike

Yesturday I decided to teach my brothers Triplets (15) how to drive a stick shift jeep (They love jeeps) and You can imagine the stalling- lurching but they did pretty good considering it was their first time and we have all been there..
One of them popped the clutch with gas hard enough to chirp the tires and we heard a big Clank and he was smart enough to just push the clutch back in and hit the brake, ya a 15 year old actually followed instructions in panic mode

PROBLEM: I'll make this detailed as its weird to me..

1. Now I drove it back from Toledo to Berea- (110 miles turnpike) using all the gears and at 75mph NO issues.
2. Reverse works perfect
3. 4x4 high and low work perfect
4. When I turn left or right "IN GEAR" the same huge Clank clank clank clank clank but only on turns??
5. I can turn left or right with the CLUTCH PUSHED IN and NO clank clank clank while moving at speed 5 to 25.
6. I can Floor it in 1,2,3,4,5,6 going straight to 5000 RPM's no issues or sounds..

Any thoughts? Thank you so much Mike

Jeep is a 2005 TJ unlimited 6 speed, 4.0 I6, 373 gears, SYE, 6" lift, 35" tires, 24,526 miles as of today. No lockers but rear has stock jeep LSD.

sounds like it might be an axle u-joint... but it really shouldnt be with how low your mileage is....

to check a u-joint (in case you dont know)

that knuckle on the axle is the u-joint, there should be NO play there whatsoever, and each of the 4 points should be capped, and sealed.

Stock axles d30 front d44 rear

I'm hoping not the spider gears but I did just go out and can move the rear tires back and fourth horizontally while on the ground about a 1/4 inch. I have already had to replace the drive shaft u-joint but believe that was my fault via heavy gas, quick clutch big rocks and hill.. Ya $30 part unless your 12 miles from a road..lol

Thank you all so much for your incite and time..

rocking your tires like that could just be play in the tranny and wont be necessarily the u-joints.
crank a the wheel heavy one way and grab the actual knuckle and joint see if when you turn one if there is any play between the two axle parts.

This is the rear tires I can't even see a U-joint and don't think there are any after looking.. The front is PERFECT and VERY TIGHT.. I'm gonna take the diff cover off tomorrow and hope the gears aren't the problem because I can't afford it right now but would love to put 488 in there..

Its 100% coming from the rear end as I had my brother drive it slow in a turn as I watched and could see the rear axle/adjustable track bar move plus rear tires binding more than normal when turning..
