First Post!

Hello everyone, I have been reading many of your posts on TJ Forums and have gained alot of good information and ideas here. This is my first post and just wanted to introduce myself and my jeep. I have a 2006 black Wrangler X, 4.0L, automatic, with black soft top, 4 inch skyjacker lift and steering stabilizers, 16x8 procomp chrome wheels on 305 Falken Wildpeak tires. I am still in the process of making this jeep over to reflect my tastes, (sorry all, the chrome wheels are staying) and now realize it will be an ongoing process. I am a retired former Marine who served in Vietnam and my wife and I are avid Harley riders in addition to being jeepers. We have a 2011 streetglide which I ride and my wife rides a 2005 Softail Deluxe. I am happy to be a part of this group. We reside in West Virginia in the summer and Florida in the winter.

Very nice Jeep. Remember the joy is in the journey or in this case the ride. Thank you for your sacrifice and service. Welcome to the forum.

Thanks to all that have replied so far and taken a look at the new jeep. Its great to know that if something breaks there are alot of folks to help get you going again. Appreciate the comments on the military service also.

Waves, we always get alot of waves from Harley riders going down the highway, weren't used to getting waves from other jeepers, but that seems to be the norm, its nice to be members of both! BTW--any comments on the jeep, or improvements, suggestions, would be much appreciated.

Welcome and Semper Fi Brother. I think your jeep looks sweet. Best advice I got on the forum is to drive it a while, decide what you really want it to do. Then research and buy what you want even if you have to save for it. Otherwise you will be buying twice. And Jeeps are like Harleys you can buy just about anything you can imagine for them.

Gunner, you are absolutely right. There are so many online sites that I have found to buy parts from. But just staying linked to the forum by reading the experiences of others here, you can gain a huge amount of knowledge. I think it gives owners alot more confidence in their jeeps. BTW, I grew up in Long Beach, Ca. spent some time in Seal Beach and Newport also. Had homes in Irvine and Huntington Beach.

My wife is originally from WVa. We bought a small 2nd home so she could be close to her parents so she could care for them. We spend 6 months in summer up here and the winter in Florida. Good mountain riding up here and the beaches in Florida.

Very nice Jeep you have there. It's the perfect color!

I love Florida. I had the wife talked into moving down there a few years ago. Then they got hit by a bunch of Hurricanes that summer and she backed out of the deal

As far as your next move on the Jeep .. I would have to say a new bumper with a winch and some lights for the front .. never a bad move

Show her hurricane stats for "The First Coast" (greater Jacksonville area). It's been decades since anything significant has managed to ride the 30 degree latitude line. One of many reasons we moved here last year.
