First week with my Jeep, More addictive than my Harley

I told myself that I would not spend money on mods for my Jeep, boy was I wrong. I've already spent nearly 2k and there is a lot more stuff that I already want. I need to stop soon or it will be an expensive toy!

1. New 31x 10.5 x 15 Michellin T/A tires and alignment = $800 +
2. New soft top/ door (came with both hard and soft top, but no windows)
$350
3. New Door shrounds= $150
4. New stereo with Ipod USB= $200
5. Hard door window tint = $50
6. Hood lock= $20
7. New front speakers= $45
8. Paint and prep for all Flares (did myself and it looks good) = $35
9. Hard door locks= $25

All of these items thuis far are to get the Jeep to it's basic standard IMO. I have not even started the real mods.

I kid. She knows the value and is actually "ok" with it.

What is in it? Where to start:
- 41x14.50 Iroks
- Staun internal beadlocks
- STaK 3 Speed Transfer Case
- PSC Full Hydraulic Steering
- Dana 60 up front with 5.38's, Ox locker, and Mosier Alloys
- EMS Offroad Hub lock kit
- 14 Bolt in rear with 5.38's, Detroit, and Mosier Alloys
- Vanco Hydroboost Brakes
- 14" Sway-A-Way coil overs in the rear
- 16" Sway-A-Way coil overs up front
- Homemade custom long arm lift
- winch, Pioneer stereo with XM, CB, dual batteries, electric fan, etc, etc, etc.

sell the HD and take the top off your jeep (its almost comparable) and then re-invest the money in jeep mods!

My primary is my Suburban. My wife's primary is her Corvette. Then she said she wanted a Harley. I negotiated by saying "Only if I get a Jeep, like I've wanted since I was 10."

Well.... The Jeep is outside....

Researching Harley's now....

When we choose an addiction, we do it RIGHT.

Couldnt be happier...

I actually took the hard top this weekend and put on the soft top. It is similiar to my my bike. However, the one good thing about it compared to the bike is that if you get tired if the sun you can pull over and throw the top on.

Who says you can only have one addiction? My KLR 650 had to sulk in the garage for a few weeks after I got the jeep, but now I'm taking it out more often (the weather is better now). They both will get their share of attention this summer (the dogs can't ride on the motorcycle, so they like the jeep better).

My 2009 r6 sits and awaits a buyer.

Do you think its a bad thing that they share the garage...the R6 and the Jeep? I think there may be some tension.

My Jeep is sort of a replacement for a Harley I had that was totaled last year. The great thing about the Jeep is I can take my wife and kids with me and they have a blast with the top off. My wife never rode on the bike with me.

The 1st week and a half of owning the Jeep, the top was off, then the daily rains came. So I need to watch the weather a little closer.
