Would you take this deal and run or just run? A test drive isn't possible but the engine starts and idles fine. If the problem is truly just a broken u joint it seems like it would be a great deal. What do you think?

I wouldn't pay 10 grand for anything I couldn't test drive. If it was just a u-joint, why wouldn't they fix it before they tried to sell it?

Just looked again, and I believe that there are a bunch of mis-statements in the ad. It says it has an 1 1/2" body lift, and to me, it looks well over 2". It also says is has a 2" suspension lift, but yet it looks like there's a really good sized transfer case drop. If those are 35" tires, that Jeep has way more than 3.5" of total lift.

If you were serious about it I would go look at it in person. Remove the rear driveshaft that is broke, put it in 4H and take it for an easy test drive. You would be able to at least see and hear how it moves. I agree with it looks (appears) to have more lift than 3.5". As far as price hard to say. Around my area dealers are asking 9-10,000 on the 2000-01 models still. Heck one dealer over by me was 8500 on 97 sport, manual, soft top, with 112,000 miles. If anything I would look through the threads hear about the usual leaks and where to find them (RMS, trans seals, valve cover) and go over it well before I personally would spend that. Just my thoughts.
