Ok, thank you! We have found that it is rather expensive to get set up!

www.hitchsource.com

I just installed the Blue Ox base plate and also bought their width adjustable tow bar. The entire setup was about $600+. Good stuff.

As for wiring just get three diodes and splice them in at the wiring running along the drivers side rocker panels inside the cab. Run the wiring to the tow vehicle through the firewall close by. No need to drill a hoe just pook through and existing spot with other wires. You can get the diodes from hitchsource. They are very easy to install. It is not necessary to add light bulbs to your tail lights!!

Wrangler left turn/stop dark green/red to yellow from tow vehicle.
Wrangler running white/yellow to brown from tow vehicle.
Wrangler right/stop brown/red to green from tow vehicle
Ground the white wire from the tow vehicle on the bolt that holds the door strap to the body.

I've been using this set up for years towing my 2004 TJ behind my Motorhome. It mounts to the bottom of the TJ frame under the bumper...clean and simple.

I have about $150 total into my set up for the towbar and wiring/lighting.

Tow bar and wiring is less than $200.

The base plate adds to the cost.

Do not tow off the stock bumper.

$120 for this set up...eliminates having to buy a base plate, mounts directly to the front frame rails (under the bumper). Just need to add the tow bar and wiring. With that said, check your states requirements for supplementary brake device for towed vehicle and brake away system...now your getting into more $$. I use M&G Engineering with my bus equipped with air brakes.
