Flow master on my Tj

I have an 05 wrangler x. I'm thinking about putting a flowmaster 50 series delta flow muffler. I have a pretty decent price set up but before I do it I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations Or opinions on other mufflers. I would appreciate your guys opinions. And two things to keep in mind are price ( I'm a college student so I'm broke) and I want a moderate sound. I don't need to sound like I'm running straight headers! Thanks for reading.

Dynomax, Magnaflow, and flowmaster are all good. I have a dynomax on a 2003 TJ. It cost me 160 to buy and have installed.

If you like Flowmaster, then the $30 Thrush Welded is the way to go. I have been really happy with the sound of mine.

I bought my 98 Sport with a Flowmaster installed. I couldn't tell you what model, but I can tell you if I was to do it I would put a normal quite muffler on. Between the wind, tires and exhaust it gets a little loud. I do get compliments on the sound especially when slowing down and downshifting…. maybe I'm just getting old.

I have a flowmaster 50 Series lined up for $170 with install and it seems like a pretty good deal. The only reason I'm trying I stick with flowmaster is because I trust them and I've heard them in person and they all sound great nomatter what series. I haven't heard many of the other brands nor do I know very much about them. Although the prices for some of the other ones are very appealing ::smileyface::

This is the muffler I put on mine. Love it. Not real loud, and can hardly hear it on the highway. Has just a little bark at lower RPM's though. Hard to beat the $30 price tag.

Does a TJ with an aftermarket muffler sound like ricerburners with fart cans?

I've got a 2.4 4cyl in mine with a flowmaster 40 series and it sounds good. Not super loud and annoying, but it gives a nice sound for the 4cyl

Oh and by the way it's a manual so I get to control the sound a lil. And yeah the price of the thrush is very appealing but I think I'll get a little more quality out of the flow master and I'm getting a pretty good deal I think.

No the I6 has a deeper tone...sounds closer to a v8 than a ricer fart can. Check out youtube.

My 4.0 came to me with a magnaflow installed. After 1200 miles, I'm ready to put a stock muffler back on. It's just too much droning on each trip.

I've run Flowmasters on my vehicles for years. I don't *see* any difference in the quality of the Thrush. It's pretty much a Flowmaster clone.

I used to run a flowmaster on my 05 4.0 auto but it was to high pitch and sounded better on many trucks I heard. Then a buddy told me to try a magnaflow glass pack. I was like many of y'all are I'm sure right now very skeptical. Let me tell you it sounds way better than the flows. Much deeper and smoother. I know I know. But you must hear to believe. And I picked mine up at pep boys for 30 brand new of course.

Mine did going down the highway. I loved it idling but not on highway. I hated it so I had stock put back on. And I have 4.0 too...
