Flowmaster 40

Is anyone running a flowmaster 40 on their TJ? How do you like the sound? I need a new exhaust in order to pass emissions, so I was thinking of going with either this or the super 44. Any suggestions if either of these aren't recommended?

Had a 40 on my Rubi and found it annoying. IMO, stock muffler sounds best for these little engines. I liked the sound of the 40s on my chevelle though.

^ this. I hated it on mine. I replaced mine with stock one not 1 month after. Sounded good idling but crap on the highway.

I'm just curious because my Jeeps in the shop now anyway, and they've quoted me less for a custom exhaust than for a new exhaust. (I've got leaks all through the pipes and they're all rusted. Completely unsalvageable). I've been driving around with the CAI and the exhaust leaks for a year, so im used to the drone. Just want a little more grumble at lower RPMs if I gotta do it anyway.

I have one on mine and it's a little too drone for me. I wish I had kept my factory exhaust.

I have a 40 on mine, cats removed entirely. I think it sounds fantastic.

I'm running the magnaflow set up on mine. It sounds great, but it's LOUD... To each his own. If the 40 is cost effective, go for it...

I like the sound of a good running engine as much as anyone. However not everyone else does, you know people like law enforcement officers, your neighbors, people living near the neat piece of property you find to wheel in, campers and hikers.....I've found the stealth approach is much better.

I'm running the super 40 and I love it. It's got a nice deep sound to it, especially when I hit overdrive.

Turns out It was gonna be 2 weeks before I could get a flowmaster into it, so I'm going with a Banks Monster Exhaust instead. Turns out its cheaper too. Anybody running that one?
