Flowmaster on a 2000 tj vid

Here's a clip that my son shot while I was sleeping. It's a short video of my 2000 sahara with the Flowmaster 40 series.

sounds good. yours is the first flowmaster i've heard that sounds the same as mine. all of the other clips i hear are canny and tinny. i heard one of the super 40 and it sounds real real canny reving up. i've only heard one other 40 series clip that sounded similar to mine.

yeah i know what you mean. it gets quieter after you start it up not long after its been driven. but you wait a while when it hasn't been driven in a few hours and it sounds the best!

It's from the cat back.So the original cat is still there. I was going to buy the banks cat back exhaust on Quadratec $264.99 plus shipping.I stopped at a local meineke and asked about the flowmaster. The guy told me $280 installed So I went that route and happy i did.Good luck with yours

Rudy

Just remember this have someone else start it up for you when you finish installing it.(you'll have a big ole Kool-Aid when you first hear it start it up)

If you can post a short vid of the outcome

Yeah man, flowmaster is the way to go.... I like doing most of the work on my own, I bought a flomaster muffler for $50 and a new OEM tail pipe for $20... I'm debating on wether to take the cat off or leave it.... I will throw it back on for emissions test, but im not sure if it will be worth doing that or not, I'll most likely leave it

taking it off will not help you any. i have read some articles which i will try to find for you where the test vehicle actually lost high end tourqe because the cat was removed. it doesnt give you any more power

I've had this video for a while and your vid has inspired me to finally post it! This is my second flowmaster for my 2000 TJ. The first was a 40 with 2.5" pipe, I didn't like the loss of backpressure, so after a couple of years I went with the 50 and 2.25" pipe. Stock cat and header. I do run a cold air intake by Airaid and a TB spacer by Helix.

It sounds a little different than my set up but all in all it sounds great.Did you really notice any difference when you went with cold air intake by Airaid and a TB spacer by Helix.Just by adding the Flowmaster I did notice a little more pep.

To tell you the truth, I did all three at one time. I doubt the intake or the TB do much on their own. But all together I did notice more pep. Hell, I woulda done it just for the sound! Hi-Flow cat is next, as soon as mine wears out. Plus I want to do the header, but for now money is tight.

The in and out are both 2 1/4". the intlet is centered while the outlet is off to one side (center of the jeep to be exact)

http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/pr...s/cent_off.jpg

I'm going to install 2.5" tailpipe on mine since with the stock pipe it's really really quiet (hardly noticble louder than stock) I bought 2.5in 2.5out muffler just in case i want to replace the cat and tail pipes with bigger diameter. I did need an adapter for that reason but at least i know i can switch to bigger any day and not need new muffler

I did try running my 50 delta with no tailpipe and it was deep and loud enough to shake my seats and side mirrors (which barely shake when going through holes but the muffler had no problem doing so)

I loved how the muffler sounded when in high rpm. You could hear the air ripping and going through it.

the 40s are really cheap there. I gotta warn you though you WILL smell the paint burning off for a month.

I'm interested in how the flowmaster hushpower mufflers sound

from a clip the hushpower sounded canny...but then again, so did every super 40 i've heard. (i.e. binarykings is more canny then the one posted up) but that could be due to the camera sitting right at the tip.
