Fluid Leak

I was getting in my jeep this morning and noticed some fluid leaking from around the middle of it. I put it on the lift to replace another brake caliper(yet another story)and it looks like transmission fluid but its coming from the case halves of the transfer case. Has anyone delt with leaks like this? Is there a gasket or is it rtv?

It was pretty easy to do even without a lift. I used a jack stand on the rear drive shaft to hold the trans/transfer case up while I took off skid plate with a jack. And then I put a jack with with a board 2x8 under trans to hold it while I removed the t-case. I have a auto trans so im not sure if its easier to do then a stick

Mine was leaking all over the place and I hated taken it anywhere cause it would leave a mess.I pulled it and replaced the rear seal in the output shaft on the trans and the front on the t-case and put the sye in and seal it all up and its been over a year and no leaks. Now its time to do the gears and fix the leaks in the seals

My manual TRANSMISSION took 3 days at the dealership and it DOES NOT have seals. Its RTV'd at the seals. They replaced the transfercase gaskets at the same time.

I just reread and noticed you said transfercase... Mine was leaking between the pieces of my manual transmission. I would highly recomend that you know what your doing if your actually going to take it apart and replace the seals of the case.

It does have seals the only silicon is the t-case when you take and split the case. If you need part # I have them
