Flushing cooling system with clr

Has anyone ever done this? Would it be stupid it does a good job from what I've heard but never heard of it being used in a vehicle? Cause the coolant gets pretty nasty and even after you flush it it seems like it gets from pretty quick. Just curious maybe someone could suggest a much better way of keeping that coolant looking good. Thanks everyone!!!

I don't know about complete system flush. But I do my heater core on my dodge about every 2 years. Just unhook heater lines and add it and let it sit in core. I even made a fitting where I can cycle it through the core at about 4lbs of pressure and it helps restore my heat every time

I've never tried it, but from what I've seen of CLR, it might just work! Maybe just drain the old coolant out, refill with water and a jug of CLR and let it run for a while at temp? I can't imagine it would hurt anything as long as it's all flushed out before refilling with coolant.

As long as you only have one coolant temperature sensor it should work, if your model year has a sensor for the computer, might not be a good idea...
