Foot Pegs?

So I just took my doors off for the first time since i bought it this week, and am really wanting to get some foot pegs. So far I've just been resting my foot on the hinge itself, but I feel like its not as comfortable as it would be if I had a real peg. I was wanting to do something to it today or tomorrow, so I don't really wanna order online, and the ones at the local 4x4 shop are pretty pricey. So I figured I'd make some, but don't have a welder. Did anyone make or substitute something else (bike peg, etc) that was reasonably easy and didn't need a welder? What did you use, and how did you do it?

It's not so much not wanting to buy some... It's more just not wanting to wait for a set to come in via shipping. If I could find some for that price in a local store, I'd scoop them up. Haha.

If I am forced to buy online though, those look really nifty, might consider em.

Homemade Jeep Pegs: Step by Step Guide

Easiest and best way, and you can buy your own peg for whatever style you want. I did mine and they work great.

I'd love to get a set of those, but I have a stick. They'd only be good for long drives for me :/

Here's mine. Made it out of 3/8 round stock. Got it at Ace Hardware.

I don't have sliders yet. I'm not doing any major mods (I plan on bed lining, upgrading and locking axles, bigger tires, sliders) until I have my Jeep paid off. Which won't be till about August.

I'm in a manual as well, but I work at a ranch out side of town, and its a 40 minute drive down back country highways to get there. Be nice to have somewhere to rest my foot. Haha

I'd love to use a foot peg but I'm worried I might forget to use the clutch

I have a stick shift and I've had my foot pegs for over a year now. Every time the doors are off the foot pegs are on.

I put my foot on the hinge in town. But I'm in a 5 speed and because of my 4.88s and only running 33" tires, I'm already in 3rd by the time I get through an intersection, and am in 5th at 30 mph. So I spend a lot of time with my foot outside the Jeep, even in the city.

That's the only time I really use them. Any long distance I keep the doors on. But shifting without the clutch does help.

And x2 with that. Especially on the freeway. A breeze from the road is nice. The whims blowing your hat off and whipping you in the face at 75 mph for three hours blows. If I'm heading to a trail, that's thy far away, I'm probably camping and will just take the doors off when I get to the camp site.

And you wonder why you had shifter issues...
I know, you're going to tell me that wasn't the cause..
I've blown up more manual transmissions than you can probably imagine....

The mirrors do somewhat but not bad. I can tighten the adjustment screws more but I like being able to adjust them on the fly.

8 inch bolts two nuts on each side. Bend to what angle you are comfortable with cost me nothing. Had all the supplies at my cousins house.

I will add pics when my baby gets back from the doctor. She needed a new engine.
