For fun..pretend you won the JK Unlimited...

It's labor day so here's a simple thought:
Pretend you won the JK Unlimited w/hemi from Quadratech. What would you do?
Keep it, sell it and fix up TJ, wheel it for awhile, etc....What would you do? I'd prolly sell it cause I couldn't afford the taxes atm.

Sell it, save half the money and dump the other half into the LJ.

Sell it and buy a clean Tj. but since I already have a TJ, I suppose I'd sell it and bank the cash

I would need to sell it to pay the income taxes I would owe for winning it.

I would keep it. And if I need to pay off the income tax for it. I'd sell my tj.

This just happened to a friends son. He won a new 2012 Camaro SS from a radio station giveaway with one of the NASCAR drivers. He is a deputy sherriff and does not make a whole lot of money. He owed 10k in taxes from winning the car. I think winnings are taxed differently than if you were to buy the car outright.

I don't see why you would enter to win just to sell. If you win it keep it.
I'd keep it. Wheel it, drive it, have fun in it.

When you buy a car you pay sales tax. When you win a car you pay income tax on the value of the car like you earned the money. Example, you win a 50k car. Your in the 20% tax bracket. You now owe 10k on top of your normal income taxes. Plus when you add the 50k to your gross income you get pushed into a higher tax bracket for your total earnings for that year.

Some of them probably only entered because they bought from Quadratec. But this thread is in the tj section. Some of them probably dislike jks.
Me. I like them. And I was going to trade in my tj for a brand new jk when I got the money.

I drove an 07 with 6-speed manual. Really the only thing I didn't like about the JK was that awful 3.8. I was astounded by its lack of torque. Seemed a little louder with the top up/windows on than my TJ too. This one I think I'd keep, provided it didn't do any worse on gas than my TJ.

Sell sell sell! They are nice rigs but I like my TJ better. Imagine the mods that JK would fund!

Probably sell the TJ and keep the JK I don't need a 3rd vehicle to wheel and if I didn't like it I could always sell it later for another TJ or I would sell it and put the money towards trading in my truck for a F250

I'd keep the winch since it's the only thing I could use and sell the JK. I'd use the money to buy parts for the TJ.

Hmmm... There's an idea. I wonder if my city-girl wife would want to bring it to Rausch Creek with me? Maybe I'd be able to get up there more than the once a month I go. Nah... I'm selling it. That's my "man-cation" time.
