Question Front and Rear bumpers.

Well I am looking for some aftermarket front and rear bumpers but everything that I can find that is decent is expensive as hell! I am fairly new to the Jeep world and if anyone knows of some nice front and rear bumpers out there that are reasonable priced id love to hear ab it. Ive considered making some myself but I dont think I want to go down that road. Im looking for a heavy duty front bumper with the tubing style grill guard and a rear bumper with a swing arm for the spare tire. The best price for an ok rear bumper and swing arm I have found is around $700, im sure there is someone out there that knows of a deal.

What I am going to do for Bumpers

Find something I like the looks of.....print some pics....go to either local fab shop or perhaps the welding tec section of the local High School. Way less than anything on line and you can add any thing extra you want to the bumper.

I can't weld up to the standard i am looking for and so far this seems to be the cheapest and best quality option i have found.

Thats a great idea, I was just having a discussion with my buddy along the same lines. The only problem is finding a place to do it and do it right. My TJ is really sharp looking and I want to keep it looking good. Id spend an arm and a leg for something nice before I added anything that looked like a bag of a**.

With a pic to follow i think you could get what you want, even at the HS welding tec. Just ask for the best welder in the class to do it as a graded project.

Student will do there best and the teacher wont let him or her f it up.

This is what i am thinking for a front bumper, its clean and mean and that's what I am looking for

I bought both my front and rear bumpers from 4wd.com for $440, shipped. They're made by a company called Blue Torch Fabworks (BTF). They're super beefy and easy to install. They come shipped in bare metal, so you can finish them how you want, either have them powdercoated, paint them, or Herculine them. They're very well built and should last the lifetime of the Jeep. Here's a link........

Blue Torch Fabworks Jeep Bumpers and Other Jeep Parts and Jeep Accessories by 4 Wheel Drive Hardware-RH3

They were running a special the last I knew......free UPS Ground shipping. I ordered mine on a Sunday, and had them in my garage on that Thursday. And I'm in Kansas, the middle of NOWHERE.

My camera is acting up, but I'll see if I can load some pics on to my computer from it and get them to this thread if you're interested in seeing how they look painted and installed.

I like this rear carrier... TJ/LJ/YJ Rear Tire Carrier

But like stated by someone else, a good fab shop can build you what ever you like for a decent price, and you'd be supporting local businesses.

Not bad products, their prices are better than a lot I have seen. I really like the rear bumper with the swing arm spare tire carrier but the least expensive one was $500. Again, good compared to other sites I have looked at.

As promised, here are the painted and installed pics of my BTF front and rear bumpers.

There are 12 grade-8 bolts holding the rear bumper to the Jeep. I don't care that the rear bumper itself doesn't have d-ring mounts since I've got a receiver mounted D-ring.

^^^^Yeah, it's a Corona bottle opener. Great for tailgating at the games or after a fun day offroading!!
