Question Front axle in 4wd sounds

I'm new to the site (a few weeks) but you have helped me already. I bought a 2004 Rubicon a couple of months ago and the forum has helped me. My question is when it's in 4WD the front axle sounds like going up the incline on a roller coaster, clak clak clak. I tdoesn't matter if the locker is locked or not and it doesn't make the noise when not in 4WD. Any help would be great. Thank you.

Replace the u-joints on the axle shafts, that's what fixed my terrible noises. It doesn't matter if they look fine on the outside, they are old.
Reference for some help: http://www.stu-offroad.com/axle/ujoint1/u-joint-1.htm

Go spend some time around that site and keep it bookmarked, you'll learn a lot.
