front backing plates

how many have removed there front backing plates due to rocks getting stuck? any noticable problems?

you mean the brake dust shields? or something else?

no, I've had no problems with rocks getting in them. also keep in mind if you don't have them, they do change the spacing of the unit bearing. the thickness of them is factored into the unit bearing spacing, such that the axle shaft u-joint rotates about the center line of the ball joints.

theres really no reason to remove them...

i get rocks stuck in there about every other time i go wheelin and the screeching noise is getting to me lol. the thickness is less then a 16th of an inch. im wondering how many guys here have removed theres?
