Front bumper lights?????

I need help. I recently bought a 2000 wrangler sahara. The lights on the bumper are gone. I found wires that possibly went to them fold up under each front fender. I tried checking to see if the wires was hot. I can't get them hot. I guess, what I'm asking is, how are they suppose to be wired. Do they work with your headlights as being on when on dim and off when on high or do they stay on as long as the switch is on???? I know they is a switch below the ac controls but still I've tried testing it every way I know how. Can anyone help???????

The factory fogs run when the switch is one and the low beams are on.

Your Sahara should have come with factory fogs. If so, them from the factory they would have been wired to the multifunction switch (headlight switch). Maybe yours was changed by the PO. Maybe not. Also there would be a fuse in the box under the hood.

Mine turn on by pulling the light switch out. And by switch I mean the part you twist to turn the lights on. If that doesn't help I will snap a pic tomorrow.

My 2000 has a round knob on the left of steering wheel under the instrument panel. You pull it out to turn on lights and turn it to adjust dash light brightness or to turn on interior light. There is a switch under the ac controls that has a picture of a light on it. I'm assuming that is the fog light switch. But I've tried getting fire with it on and off and also with lights on and off and I can't seem to get fire either way.

Like stated above make sure the fuse AND relay for it are installed or you won't get any power to the fog light harness.

The multifunction switch controls the fog lights in the TJ's and this switch is junk. Whe it goes bad, the fog lights stay on all the time...even when the vehicle is off. The previous owner probably didn't want to pay the ridiculous price to replace the switch so he took out the fogs. That is a problem in states like Virginia with annual inspections and all the factory lights need to work if they are on the vehicle. If inspections aren't an issue, most folks just pull out the fog light fuse.

Refer to post#2 also... The Fog Light Switch is part of the switched power circuit, so the key needs to be in the Acc position at least! Check for power in (12V) at pin 4 on the switch. If you have it there, check pin 2 for 12V out to the relay. The relay in question is in the Power Distribution Center under the hood... Do you have the proper relay installed? Hope this helps troubleshooting a little, but you are going to have to access the back of the switches to be positive...

A '00 TJ doesn't have a multifunction switch. As stated above there is a pull knob on the dash for the head lights and a switch under the HVAC controls for the fog lights.
