Front Diff Vent leaking from end of hose

Hey guys, Im having a very interesting problem with my jeep. I have a 97 sport with the I6, 5 Speed with 4.56 gears that gear fluid is leaking from the top of the vent hose.

I bought the jeep about 2 months ago and didnt have any issue, then the other day i had a small puddle under the jeep where the vent tube sits near the frame.

So i relocated the hose so its facing up, new the PS pump, and today i noticed it was "spitting" out more fluid, not much, but it followed the hose down to the diff and some sprayed onto my underside of the hood.

Now i havent mud bogged, or driven through any water, i havent touched the fluid, what could be causing it to vent out like its doing?

Any help would be appreciated, im new to the jeep world and trying to fix things myself!

Thanks,

Frank

My first guess would be that too much fluid was put in. Does it have aftermarket covers?

open differentials or lockers ? With an ARB you have to drill the housing for the oil to return back to the bottom on the case. Might be that way with others ????

If the place tried to service your Jeep before you bought it, there's a good chance they just filled them up til the oil comes out the fill hole like you would with a stock cover which could very well be too much. Although some of the covers allow for more fluid, the stock amounts should be put in. Being a new to you Jeep, this would be a good chance to service them diffs to make sure the correct amount/type is used and a good chance to inspect your gears and see how they look and how everything works. It's a messy and somewhat time consuming job, but a monkey could do it.
