Front drive shaft problem

My transfer case broke in half driving down the highway and when the mechanics replaced it they told me that it was my front drive shaft so its been out for about a month. i was wondering how much it should cost to get it fixed or should i just buy a new one. i'm a little short of cash so i need to go the cheapest rout. i have a 4 in lift, do i need it lengthened or shortened? i just want my jeep to be a jeep again haha thanks.

So what did they say was wrong witht he Front DS??? did the DS actually break, was it a U-joint, please explain. If just U-joints, then thats easy and cheap.

Depends on which Jeep model you have...
On my 03 Rubi I have a 4" lift and was running the stock front DS, just fine.

You should be able to get stock one from the dealer for about $275 to $325 and after market ones run about the same as well, $300 to $375.

Chris

It was the ujoints at the end that connects to the tcase I got it replaced for 130 bucks so I was happy with that, but as soon as I got that on for some reason my radiator fluid wanted to start leaking and I thought it was the bottom hose so I replaced it and it's still dripping so I'm stuck
