Front drive shaft rubbing lightly after lift

Ever since I did the 4.25 combo lift on my 03 TJ, at certain times I could here a faint rubbing sound from under the Jeep. I couldn't figure out where it was coming from until today. This afternoon I installed some JKS quicker disconnects and while I was under there I noticed a shiny spot on my front drive shaft. My TJ has a transmission skid ( that I am assuming is factory) and the front drive shaft is only about 3/4 inches away from it on the front side. I think in certain driving situations it was rubbing. My transfer case has the 3/4 spacers that came with the lift. The transmission skid has none.

My question is, How far up and down does this shaft go when flexing. If I am rubbing now without discoing then I would think it would be terrible at full flex. What size spacer should I put in there to get the skid lowered away from the shaft. I am thinking it would have to be at least one inch maybe more. I took the skid off for but I would like to get the problem fixed by the weekend for some wheeling.

The only way to know for sure is to flex it out.

when you lift a 42RLE automatic equipped jeep any amount you need to modify or entirely remove the transmission skid.

You know on the driver side bar that is holding the skid plate up is on backwards. The flate side should be facing outward to protect the nut like on the other side. Only reason I noticed is I did my UFC skid today.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU'VE GOT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

My skid doesn't look any thing like that one. The front is where it was rubbing.

thats not an UFC skid, and the angle iron is installed correctly.

your skid doesn't look anything like that because that skid isn't factory. like I said in my first post, you need to remove the factory tinfoil skid with any lift because the driveshaft rubs on it. if you don't want to be replacing your transmission after some rock punches through the tranny oil pan, you need to add an aftermarket full length skid, like the picture I posted.
