Front Fold and Tumble Seat

hi, i have a 2006 TJ and my drivers side front seat will not unlock to fold and tumble when i press the lever.. is there a thread on how to fix this.. or a vid or pics.. ive read that i will need to remove the seat from the Jeep to fix this but i cannot find anything on how to do so.. or if there is an easier way to correct the issue..

any info or help would be appreciated.

thanks

Going to ask a very stupid question, is the base of the drivers seat the same as the passenger side? The reason why I ask is that is some jeeps do not have fold and tumble drivers seats. The back only tilts forward.

On the 06 (I have one also) the plastic mounts that hold the cables so that the lever can move them on the upper outer side of the headrest are the weak link. We had to remove the foam and fabric (they are one piece) to get to the seat frame - IIRC we had to remove the plastic trim and the release handle knob first.

I was unable to source a new bracket so I reinforced the bottom edge with folded metal and some washers. Wish I had taken some pics. You are at least the third person I have run across with what sounds like the same problem.

No need to debate or question which have fold and tumble drivers sides. It's been questioned many times with no clear answer which models/years/option packages dictated which one have them.

ok new question. how many bolts are holding the seat in. i can see 4 but can only get to the front 2. the 2 in the back are only accessible if i could flip the seat forward (driver seat) and since i need to take it out to fix the problem of it NOT flipping forward how do i get it out since i cant get to the back bolts since i cant get the seat to flip forward. LOL. grrrrr!!!!

There is a manual release latch underneath the seat. Push it down and while holding it down, tumble seat forward.

Only my passenger seat tumbles but it should be the same for the drivers seat.

My Jeep's driver's side seat tumbles. There is a latch underneath the seat just like the passengers side seat.
