Front License Plate Install

Hello,

before I had my license plate on the front bumper. But I lost it the last time I was offroading. Now I need a different place to mount it.

Before it was there:

Whats about this place? But I couldnīt see how the winch line rolls up..

Or at the lightbar? I like the Hella working lights and IMO 2 wouldnīt be enough for me.

I could also weld a plate at one side of the lightbar.

What do you think? Where would you install teh front licence plate?

Thanks!
nicols-eric

I agree. Keep it on the bumper. Just mount it more secure.

It was mounted there with two M8 wolts and washers at the top and the same at the bottom.
How could I mount it on the buumper in a better way?
IMO the other places look ugly. But I wat that itīs installed safe.

Now itīs gone and I will get a complete new license number. That costs about 280$. I donīt want that again in the future.

Before you move it off the front bumper, check the vehicle license laws. In the uS depending on the state, the license is required to be on the bumper. Other states just require it to be visible to the front. Some states don't require/issue a front plate. If all else fails, ask a cop, then check the law yourself!

Just use zip-ties unless your front license plate requires to be illuminated.

If you can just weld on a bracket to the light bar like you said, why couldn't you weld on a better type of bracket to the bumper?

Today I talked with a friend who is a welding pro.
He said he would install it on the bumper like before and then he would weld a 1/8" steel surrounding around the license plate. On that way I couldnīt loos eth eplate because the surrounding is thicker than the plate.

Here in Germany we can install teh plates in the front and rear wherever we wont.
My rear license plate is in the center of the spare tire with a 2x100W Hella working light.
