Question front seat removal?

Im baffled I have had many cars and seat removal was 4 simple bolts and a few electrical plugs. Im a new jeep owner and I went to remove the front seats and only found access to 2 X 1/2" bolts that mount the rail/base to the floor, the rear two seem to be tors head bolts that are virtually inaccessable? wtf,I thought it was only German car companies that did thie stuff? any help would be appreciated

thanks

Slide the seat forward to access the rear bolts...however, spray all bolts liberally with PB Blaster well in advance. I snapped one of my bolts off when I tried to remove one of my seats recently. Haven't bothered trying to fix it yet...but I'm sure I'm going to enjoy trying to drill it out when I do.

I can't remember the size of the Torx bolts...but I'm thinking they're either T-55 or T-50.

I agree that it was poor engineering to mix and match like that...my front hex bolts came right out...rear bolts...barely any pressure and SNAP!

Just reach in between the rails. They are not had to get to. (BTW it's Torx)

is there a flap covering the area the torx is in? when I took my seats out the passenger seat was a PAIN. if you stand on your head and look under the seat there is a lever about halfway back to allow the seat to come up off the bracket for access to the rear. it completely reveals the torx for easier access.

Your seat has a fold and tumble feature. If the tab on the seat back doesn't work, you can find the fix for it at Jeep TJ Web Site of Stu Olson - N7QJP

Hey now...don't say it like that...you need to be saying that after drinking a 6 pack for breakfast this morning, you walked outside and had an epiphany. Flipped seat forward and while drunk, figured out how to remove the seat!
