Just put on RC sway bar disconnects yesterday. I fiddled around with them for about two hours trying to get the lengths right but it seems they move the sway bar up WAY to high. I thought for a second they sent me the wrong links because they have 2 different versions. One for the 2.5 inch lift (which i have) and 4-6 inch lift. But according to the box and a quick call to CS they were the right ones.

The instructions said to let them out to 10 1/4 inches to compensate for the lift but it just doesn't look right.

Is there any harm in keeping it at that angle? It drives/rides just fine to me. I was just wondering if there is supposed to be a certain angle the sway bar has to be at, or am I fine with this?

Any help would be appreciated!

I installed some JKS disconnects that called for ideal angle of 15 degrees above the horizontal. Mine ended up more like 5, but it drives ok. No explanation on why the angle matters. I'm also curious.

Looks ok, you've still got some thread left to bring them down a little more.

Ok thanks guys! That's what I needed to hear. Doing a google search about it I read a post from some other jeep forum (don't remember which one) where a guy posted that the sway bar needed to be parallel to the ground when parked in a flat surface so that's what had me a little worried.

The reason there is a little thread left is because that's as short as I can get them and still be able to swing them up into the brackets once I disconnect.

Now I feel a little better! I just got home from hernia surgery so it would have been a week or so before I could work on it had it been a problem.

Thanks guys!
