Front tow links?

I got my winch installed the other day, but think it wise to have a couple of points to be pulled from as well. I noticed many of the jeep pics have d-links (I think thats what they are called?) that attached to the front of the frame/bumper. However, my 2000 sport has some heavy rubber stops or something in that location.

I do have the factory bumper. So my question - (a) is my jeep equipped for the front d-links? (b) How do I get those stupid rubber things off?

See image below if my noob terminology makes this question more confusing than it needs to be.

I believe they are called D rings. Normally you need an aftermarket bumper with tabs. If you are running the stock bumper, a standard tow hook from most ayto parts stores will bolt into where your front bumper bolts to the frame.

I would put tow hooks on it. Right above your red boxes you should see 2 torxs bits on each side size 51 btw. Pull those 2 bolts and put in the tow hooks and then bolt it back up.

your front bumper is too thin to weld on d shackle mounts, id go with tow hooks(assuming you're not in the market for a new bumper). Rural king has some with their towing stuff. I think they're rated at 10,000lbs and are like $10.

black or chrome depending on your taste. i think the black one is stronger, but the chrome one gives you more horsepower.

if you still want your rubber things off, you remove the bumper and there are 2 bolts holding each one on.

you can make your own d-rings and attach them using the 2 bolts that hold the bumper on

That Warn bumper is a good one. I've been wanting one for a while now, but I got tired of wanting so I made my own. I just need to put in the d-ring mounts and it'll be good to go. One of these days I still might get one of those to match my rock sliders.

Ohh, and welcome to the forum.
